The team's position on Pre-Season 3

On September 18, 2026, Teuf clarified the project's direction: ROTK will not go back to a Pre-Season 3 base, nor to the original H1, even if EG7 (the game's owner) were one day to sell the intellectual property to the team. The goal is to keep the strengths of Z1 Battle Royale, such as its good hitreg, and to offer "our own version of the game" based on community feedback. If the license were ever bought, the team says it would stay focused on the game and not on skins.

Anti-cheat

  • September 7, 2026: announcement of a mandatory and closed-source anti-cheat (not open source, so as not to help cheaters), but reviewed before each release by Teufeurs and Dano, who receive its source code.
  • September 22, 2026: 234 accounts banned for cheating, including more than 200 in 24 hours, using a simple temporary tool of about thirty lines of code.
  • The real anti-cheat is in development, with hardware bans (HWID) to stop cheaters from coming back with a new account.
  • An anti-cheat expert has joined the project as a volunteer.

ROTK and ZEmu

Since September 18, 2026, ROTK has clearly stated that it is not a copy of Pre-Season 3 (see the team's position), which partly matches ZEmu's view.

ZEmu's position: no connection with ROTK; criticizes the uncredited reuse of the Project Preseason 3 mod (2021); considers that ROTK is still based on Z1BR. ROTK's position: ZEmu is a serious project, there is no "project war", play whichever one you prefer.
